A practical buying guide to the Code Black Coffee Decaf x Hot Chocolate Bundle: who it fits, who should skip it, and how to choose whole bean or ground.
Quick answer
Buy the Code Black Coffee x Decaf x Hot Chocolate Bundle if you want one package for caffeine-free espresso and a separate hot chocolate, especially for evenings or gifting. Skip it if you need a large bag of decaf, only drink caffeinated coffee, or already have a hot chocolate you love.
What the bundle actually contains
The bundle pairs a 250g bag of Swiss Water Decaf Espresso with a 500g tin of Cocoa Jackson Specialty Hot Chocolate. That is two distinct drinks, not a flavored coffee: you brew the decaf espresso on its own and mix the hot chocolate on its own.
Because the decaf is a 250g bag, it suits a first trial or a household that drinks decaf occasionally. If decaf espresso is your daily driver, you will finish it quickly and should plan to reorder.
Why the two-product format matters
A combined bundle solves a common evening problem: one person wants a decaf espresso after dinner while another wants hot chocolate. You are not forced to choose between coffee and cocoa for the household.
It also works as a gift because it reads as a complete hot-drink set rather than a single bag of coffee. The trade-off is that you cannot adjust the ratio: if you use much more hot chocolate than decaf, or the reverse, one item will sit in the cupboard.
Whole bean or ground: the one choice that matters
The bundle asks you to select whole bean or ground. Choose whole bean only if you have a grinder and brew espresso-style or use a machine that takes fresh grounds. Choose ground if you want to open the bag and brew immediately, accepting that pre-ground coffee stales faster once opened.
The hot chocolate is a separate product and is not affected by the grind choice, so this decision applies only to the decaf espresso.
Decision rules for the decaf bundle
- If you want caffeine-free espresso for evenings: Choose this bundle when you specifically want decaf espresso, not decaf filter or a flavored coffee. The 250g bag is enough to test the decaf in your setup before committing to a larger bag. Check that your brewer or machine can handle espresso-style coffee before ordering.
- If you are buying a gift: Pick the bundle when the recipient drinks both coffee and hot chocolate or lives with someone who does. It is a safer gift than a single coffee bag because it covers two drink preferences. Ask whether the recipient has a grinder before choosing whole bean.
- If you already own a hot chocolate you like: Skip the bundle and buy the decaf espresso on its own. You would be paying for a 500g hot chocolate you do not need, and the bundle only makes sense when both items will be used.
- If you drink decaf every day: Treat the 250g decaf as a trial size. If you like it, plan a repeat purchase rather than relying on the bundle for a full month of daily espresso. Track how many days the 250g bag lasts so you can reorder before it runs out.
Product facts
- Code Black Coffee x Decaf x Hot Chocolate Bundle: The bundle includes a 250g Swiss Water Decaf Espresso and a 500g Cocoa Jackson Specialty Hot Chocolate, with whole bean or ground options. You get a smaller decaf bag and a larger hot chocolate tin, so the bundle leans toward cocoa volume rather than coffee volume.
